Kenya Oil Company Limited (Kenol), the oldest oil company in Kenya has its stronghold upcountry, where it is found in ev ery rural town around Kenya. In 1999, Kenol aquired controlling shares of Mid-Oil Africa, then the largest kerosene d i s t ributor in Kenya. Kenol has established subsidiaries in uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Rwanda, trading under the K ob il b ra nd. Kenol and Kobil have also established a Trading Desk that engages in bulk trading of petroleum products. Ke nol an d K obil have a combined retail network of over 175 service stations in Kenya and a market share of 20%. Kob il U gand a ha s ov er 35 service stations and 9% of the market share, Kobil Tanzania 11 stations and 6% of the market share whil e Kob il Zambia has 10 service stations. |

| Shareholders of Kenya Oil Company Limited have approved the Board’s recommendation for a Kenol’s share split during the Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) that was held today. Kenol’s share split, also approved by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), has officially becomes the first ever share split at the Nairobi Stock Exchange. |

| For the second year in a row, Kobil Uganda Limited has won the Employer of the Year Award for 2003. The company was second placed, winning the Silver Plate, and an extra award for Special Innovative Human Resource Practices. Kobil Uganda was the only company that won two awards during the ceremony. |
| KOBIL BRAND LAUNCHED IN ZAMBIA |

| Launching the brand, Zambian Vice President Dr. Nevers Mumba said Kenya and Zambia are members of the COMESA trading block, and that the launch of the Kobil brand in Zambia was in line with the principles of regional trading. Kobil Zambia was previously trading under the Jovenna brand. The subsidiary was acquired in February 2002 from Nedbank Ltd. The launch comes shortly after the re-branding process of the subsidiary in July 2003. The re-branding process, estimated at USD500,000 was part of a total of USD11 million set for regional expansion and rehabilitation activities. |

The company has formally commenced retail sales in Kigali, Rwanda, by establishing the first service station in that market. The new service station has generated a lot of interest in Kigali. |
